Designs by Other Artists:
I highly recommend the Creative Beading book series from Bead&Button. There are fourteen volumes in total, but sadly it doesn’t seem like they will be making any more since the company is no longer in business (*ugly cries*).Â
The first design I shared came from the talented artist named Isabella Lam. This design is called the “Ivy Trails Necklace.” It incorporates most of the Chalk White Teal Luster Leaf Beads, and I was also able to use the SuperDuo beads from the Turtle Beach – two-hole beads club!
Also included are the Cali beads from this month’s club, and tons of Rizzo beads from a previous club. In the center, encased is a sparkling 18mm crystal rivoli fancy stone, which is also held in place with yellow-lined crystal fire polished beads from my stash.
From Creative Beading Volume 14, I completed two projects. The first is called the Zinnia Pendant, by Zsuzsanna Erdei. Creating this piece was a great way to use the Yellow Opaque Matte Laser Rye Dagger Beads! I love how they peek out from the base of the pendant.
Also from Creative Beading Volume 14 is a necklace, which is inspired by the Irresistible Cabs design by Puca. I modified the number of Arcos Par Puca beads on the chain, the Delica bead size (I used 11/0 – they call for 10/0 in the book), types of cabs and colors used, but otherwise I followed the instructions provided in the book.
The composition of the design is stunning! I would have loved to have three matching cabs to use in the required sizes, but I do like how the large peacock focal is set apart from the two Lunasoft lucite cabs on either side.
Up next is a pair of Cali Earrings by Ellad2. This pattern was complimentary this month from Beads of the Month Club! Every month that you are an active subscriber, BOTMC includes a new link at the bottom of the paper invoice inside your package. The link brings you to a webpage with a selection of three beading patterns that you may download and/or print, at no additional cost.
Since I received quite a few cali beads this month, it was the perfect opportunity to make the Cali earrings! The pair went together fairly quickly, and the pattern was straightforward. Because I didn’t have enough of one color in the 4mm bicone beads, I decided to use a second color as an accent at the top and the bottom.
